\u201cHey Dan, great to see you again!\u201d My stomach dropped, what was their name again?? I know we had met before and, they remember my name but I can\u2019t recall theirs. Embarrassing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve all been there. We\u2019re introduced to someone and 5 minutes later we have forgotten their name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Remembering people\u2019s names is important. It demonstrates that you care and respect them. As noted in Dale Carnegie\u2019s iconic book \u201cHow to win friends and influence people\u201d he puts it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA person\u2019s name is to him or her the sweetest and most important sound in any language.<\/strong>\u201d \u2014 Dale Carnegie.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Here are three things you can do to help remember people\u2019s names and also when you do forget how to graciously recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Realize remembering people\u2019s names are tough. But you can do it. This is one of those fake it until you make it things. Literally just believing you will remember someone\u2019s name prepares your subconscious mind to receive a name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
