{"id":88,"date":"2011-03-01T08:16:45","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T08:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.danielyerelian.com\/blog\/?p=88"},"modified":"2011-03-05T18:39:31","modified_gmt":"2011-03-05T18:39:31","slug":"lobster-and-crab-mac-and-cheese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.danielyerelian.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/01\/lobster-and-crab-mac-and-cheese\/","title":{"rendered":"Awesome Lobster and Crab Mac and Cheese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, I might clean this recipe up a bit later but after cooking all this and drinking some white wine this evening this is what I put together.<\/p>\n<p>what you&#8217;ll need:<br \/>\n&#8211; pasta (mix it up)<br \/>\n&#8211; 2.5lb lobster<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 Dungeoness crab<br \/>\n&#8211; .75 lb Xtra Shrp Cheddar<br \/>\n&#8211; .5 lb Gruyere<br \/>\n&#8211; White wine<br \/>\n&#8211; Panko crumbs<br \/>\n&#8211; Flour<br \/>\n&#8211; Truffle oil ( i could not find this on short notice&#8230;. find it! and class it up.)<br \/>\n&#8211; Cherry tomatoes<br \/>\n&#8211; 3 Green onions<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 Big Brown Onion<br \/>\n&#8211; Whole milk<br \/>\n&#8211; Butter<br \/>\n&#8211; Salt<br \/>\n&#8211; Pepper<\/p>\n<p>how to cook it:<\/p>\n<p>0.<br \/>\nOpen the bottle of wine and pour yourself a drink.<\/p>\n<p>1.<br \/>\nCook yourself like a 2lb lobster and a dungeoness crab, and get the meat out. That&#8217;s another recipe.<\/p>\n<p>2.<br \/>\nPrepare like 1.5 lbs of pasta, mix 2 or 3 of your favorites. Throw some large shell pasta in there, the texture works well for this.(If you have water left over from cooking the lobster and\/or crab, strain that water and boil your pasta in that!)<\/p>\n<p>3.<br \/>\nIn a big pot(we&#8217;re going to throw the pasta in here later) put in like a half stick of butter, half a diced large brown onion and a little red pepper if you get down like that.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk Whisk<\/p>\n<p>4.<br \/>\nAfter about three minutes put in like 3\/4 of a garlic, diced. Add some more butter if it looks weak.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk Whisk<\/p>\n<p>5.<br \/>\nAfter 2 minutes, add some flour, I don&#8217;t know how much, just shake a little bit in there, not too much. You just want it to mix with the butter and start it browning.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk Whisk<\/p>\n<p>6.<br \/>\nPut like 3 cups of whole milk in there. throw some white wine in there, and take some wine for yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk Whisk<\/p>\n<p>7.<br \/>\nOnce it heats up add two egg yolks and mix in<\/p>\n<p>Whisk Whisk fast dont let the eggs yolks sit or touch the sides if possible.<\/p>\n<p>8.<br \/>\nMix in the shredded gruyere and the shredded extra sharp cheddar. Put more cheese in if you want.<\/p>\n<p>Add more milk to make consistency like nacho cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk<\/p>\n<p>9.<br \/>\nMix in your pasta slowly.<\/p>\n<p>10.<br \/>\nAdd your lobster, crab meat and green onions. Fold together<\/p>\n<p>11.<br \/>\nThrow all that in a baking pan with like a dozen or so cherry tomatoes cut into quarters mixed in.<\/p>\n<p>12.<br \/>\nTop with Panko bread crumbs, pat down lightly with hand.<\/p>\n<p>13.<br \/>\nThrow in the over at 350 for like 10-15 minutes then broil that sucker until the top gets brown.<\/p>\n<p>Note:<br \/>\nIf it looks like it&#8217;s too dry during the
